The latest generation Mustang starts with a turbocharged 315-horsepower 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine delivering 350 lb.-ft. of torque. The EcoBoost trims come with a 10-speed automatic transmission standard, while the GT model features a 5.0-liter V8 with a six-speed manual transmission standard. 



Even the Coyote V8 gets an upgrade for the latest generation, delivering an additional 60 horsepower, but Ford also offers an optional performance exhaust that can boost output to 486 horsepower and 481 lb.-ft. of torque. Reminiscent of the recently retired Mach 1 and the discontinued Shelby GT350, the Dark Horse trim offers Mustang enthusiasts the ultimate performance with a 500-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine.
